Not only Rams: Mike Shannon restaurant leaving downtown St. Louis

A downtown St. Louis destination for more than 30 years,Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood restaurant will join the Rams’ exodus from the city this year.But the landmark restaurant bearing the name of thelongtime Cardinals player and broadcaster isn’t the only famous restaurant near the Arch to close its doors recently.Joe Buck’s in downtown St. Louis,J. It’s been unbelievable.”The purpose behind the closing is to focus on opportunities with the Mike Shannon’s Grill franchise andexpansion, whichincludessuch items as wine and barbecue sauce, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.Popular restaurant locations in Edwardsville, Ill.,and at LambertSt. Louis International Airport will remain open.Shannon, who wasinducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014,will be broadcasting his 44th season on the Cardinals radio network this season.
